MEADOWS RUN CLUB IS BACK! 2023-2024

Multiple studies have shown that cardio exercise in the morning promotes better mood, concentration and academic performance. Additionally, social running is fun!

Run Club is for ALL Meadows students. No running experience needed. No permission slips required. Just show up on the lower playground at 7:40 a.m., Tuesday-Friday. You can run, walk, or skip until 8 a.m.! Every lap is tracked and runners are rewarded when they reach marathon milestones. Parents are welcome to run, too!

  • ●  Fall Season: 10/3/23 - 12/8/23 (no Run Club on day of Mustang Trot 11/28/23)
  • ●  Winter Break: 12/9/23 - 1/15/24
  • ●  Spring Season: 1/16/24 - May 2024 (final day TBD)

Join Remind Group Text to get automatic Run Club notifications. Text @g6fcea to the number 81010 to join.

A few rules:

  • ●  TK and Kinders must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and walked to class at 7:55 a.m. (given TK and Kinder start at 8am).
  • ●  All other students may be dropped off, but only after 7:40 a.m., when parent volunteers are present.
  • ●  Students should observe Run Club etiquette and Meadows SKORR guidelines while at Run Club (running outside the cones/no shorter laps, running a full lap before getting scanned for a lap, being respectful of volunteers, students, etc.).

Rain Policy:

If it rains after 6 p.m. the prior evening, Run Club is cancelled.

No Laps for Walking to School or Running Races Outside of School:

We do not count laps for walking to school or running official races outside of school (e.g., local 5K, 10K, etc.). It is administratively too challenging to track and keep fair.

Year-End Party:

To be eligible to attend the Run Club Year-End Party in June 2024, 1st - 5th grade runners must run a minimum of two marathons (cumulative total for entire school year), and TK/Kinder runners must run a minimum of 1 marathon (cumulative total for entire school year).

Come and watch your child’s face light up with delight when they discover their personal scanner card waiting for them!

Run Club was founded by and is entirely operated by parent volunteers. If you’d like to help, please contact Co-Chairs Kelly Parker ([email protected]) or Andrea Golovko ([email protected]). We especially need help from parents in the younger grades: TK, K, 1st, and 2nd.

Thank you so much!
