Last year, Meadows has formed a Meadows Cares Committee to coordinate programs and activities that together create a safe and welcoming school community for all students. MBUSD has made developing a climate of care, equity, diversity, and social justice a focus for all schools, and Meadows continues to support that goal with our own initiatives.
In addition to coordinating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and No Place for Hate programming, the Meadows Cares committee helped plan the Lunar New Year and Holi celebrations, included a book about the Special Olympics in a story walk, and highlights Meadows family traditions in newsletters.
Chaired by Betty Wan and Madeline Kaplan, the Meadows Cares Committee meets monthly and includes representatives from the following groups:
Rosalie Rapas, Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)
Sabrina Moll, English Language Learner Advisory Council (ELLAC)
Shirley Cramer and Tara Tzirlin, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
Betty Wan and Madeline Kaplan, No Place for Hate Co-Coordinators
Committee Members: Mrs. Krz,. Ms. Tuttle, Mrs. Primm, Kimberly Rosenfeld, Michele Graeler, Jane Kim, Susmita Patanala, Vivien Chang McIntosh, and Jakki Wong
