A lack of state funding forced cuts to vital programs at our elementary schools for the coming year. The MBEF Board has worked in collaboration with District leadership to determine the most effective allocation of MBEF funding. At an unprecedented special meeting, the MBEF Board approved an initial grant in the amount of over $1.3 Million that will immediately restore some positions in key areas, including MakerSpace and PE.

This is just the beginning - with a successful Annual Appeal and additional fundraising efforts in store, we anticipate that our total grant in June will be substantially more than the $6 Million that the District has budgeted. We are working diligently with our partners, submitting grant proposals, and dedicating the Paddle Raise at the Manhattan Wine Auction to bringing more teachers back to the classrooms to maximize our impact.
