ASSISTEENS®, a co-ed youth volunteer auxiliary of the Assistance League, encourages and provides volunteer opportunities for youth in grades 7 through 12. The organization is hosting a membership event on Saturday, January 27, and you can click here to learn more about it.
The goals are to develop a sense of community responsibility, self-reliance, personal responsibility, poise, public speaking, and leadership skills. Assisteens volunteer their time and support various ongoing philanthropic programs that benefit their community. Assiteens is also a certifying agency for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The Assistance League, founded in 1919, has a long tradition of service in the South Bay.
