Starting on Saturday, a group of local Manhattan Beach residents will be collecting signatures to support a citizen-backed initiative to bring a new local parcel tax to benefit our public schools and community.  The proposed measure has received summary and title from the City Attorney and the Notice of Intent was published on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

This initiative, MB Citizens for Schools, is being led by members of the community, rather than MBUSD, in an effort to counter the ongoing and severe state funding shortfalls and maintain and protect high-quality education in our schools.

There will be members of the community at school sites during drop-off and around town (on sidewalks and other public spaces) to gather signatures from Feb 4 - 14th.
