This series of workshops is designed for parents to understand what their children will be learning by grade level. A Balanced Mathematics approach that incorporates Common Core Standards in Mathematics and Cognitively Guided Instruction will be discussed. Connections will be made between what students are learning in the classroom and how parents can support mathematics learning at home. The December sessions will focus on what parents can do to help their students at home, and the sessions after the New Year will focus on the purpose of what students are learning in class.
