Meadows students and families joined community members from across Manhattan Beach this spring for a morning dedicated to service, sustainability, and environmental stewardship during the City’s first community Earth Day Tree Planting event.
Held along Veterans Parkway across from the Joslyn Community Center, the event—hosted in partnership with the City of Manhattan Beach and Grades of Green—brought together volunteers of all ages to help plant California-native western sycamore trees and contribute to a greener future for the community.
The day began with an opening ceremony led by city leaders before volunteers rolled up their sleeves for hands-on planting activities and environmental learning opportunities. Students had the chance to see firsthand how small actions can create meaningful change while learning more about sustainability and caring for the environment.
Events like these highlight the power of community collaboration and reinforce the importance of environmental responsibility for students of all ages. We are proud of our Meadows students and families for representing the school community while helping create a healthier, greener Manhattan Beach.
Thank you to the City of Manhattan Beach, Grades of Green, and all volunteers who helped make this event possible and inspiring for our students and community.
