Math Kangaroo

Meadows Elementary students are being recognized for their outstanding problem-solving skills after earning national recognition in this year’s Math Kangaroo competition — an internationally recognized mathematics competition designed to inspire creative thinking and a love of mathematics.

Fourth grade student Rhett W. and fifth grade student Nathan F. were both named National Winners, an impressive accomplishment in a competition that included more than 60,500 students from across the United States and over 6 million participants worldwide.

Hosted locally by the MBMS Math Club on March 19, the Math Kangaroo competition challenged students to solve complex, logic-based problems in a timed environment, encouraging perseverance, critical thinking, and creativity. Unlike traditional math assessments, the competition focuses on engaging students with problems that require innovative approaches and deep reasoning skills.

This recognition reflects not only these students’ dedication and hard work, but also the strong culture of curiosity and academic excellence fostered throughout the Meadows community.

Congratulations to Rhett and Nathan on this exciting achievement and for representing Meadows so well. We also extend our appreciation to the teachers, families, and staff members who continue encouraging students to explore new challenges, develop confidence in mathematics, and pursue opportunities that inspire learning beyond the classroom.
