Makerspace 2021-2022

What is Makerspace?

We cannot predict what will happen in the next 5 years. Makerspace helps prepare students for any challenge ahead by teaching healthy habits of mind. Makers develop a sense of purpose and resilience through empathy, critical thinking, creative problem- solving, and an understanding of cause and effect. All K-5 students have Makerspace time each month.

How can we help?

Please like our Facebook page & visit our website. Check out photos and share projects online.

Donations welcome! Look for a drop-off bin outside the front office for bottle caps, cardboard tubes, water bottles, cereal boxes, etc. Or gift us supplies from our Amazon wish list. Thank you for your support!

Take-Home Labs

lab

The kindergarten students were the first recipients of the new Take-Home Labs, full of materials to keep building and inventing from home. Featured here is the creation of Siena, who even used the bag her materials came in! More take-home labs will be coming to other grades soon.

What will your child make? Email a picture to elizabethjhiatt@yahoo.com to be included in our Meadows Makerspace website, or post on the Makerspace MBUSD Facebook page. See the exciting and inspiring work of other Meadows Makers! Also, a *huge* thank you to all of the parents who have donated to Makerspace so far. It makes such a difference!
